We've tested several of our internal designs using the DP83867IS and have found that 1000Base-T transmit power levels are 3dB low. The same results occur when we test the TI DP83867ERGZ-S-EVM evaluation board which also utilizes this PHY.
We are using a Sifos Technologies PVA3002 Ethernet analyzer to do this testing. The Sifos report (.xlsx) showing reduced transmit power levels is attached.
In all tests, the unit under test was powered, reset, and remained in default power-up state.
Does the DP83867IS need a register configured to achieve full power output? 100Base-T output levels appear to be at full power.
