DS90UH941AS-Q1: Display configuration settings with DS90UH941 and DS90UH948

Part Number: DS90UH941AS-Q1

We are designing IVI with DS90UH941 and DS90UH948.
As in the attached file, it asks if the setting is possible.
We want two 1920*1080@30Hz outputs using DSI input 1-port (4-Lane) in any condition.

According to the product characteristics of the DS90UH941AS-Q1 datasheet, as shown in Figure 5 of the attached file,

when "Dual FPD-Link III outputs", "pixel clock frequency up to 210MHz" is supported, in this case up to 3K(2880x1620)@ 30Hz is supposed to be supported.Display division.pdf

In this case, is it possible to split the screen into two 1920 * 1080 @30Hz screens as shown in Figures 1 to 4?

  • Hi Kijung,

    Thank you for your question.

Figures 1 & 2 are possible using the 941 in splitter mode; figure 1 using left/right symmetric splitting mode. However, figure 2 is only possible while using symmetric alternate line splitting; meaning that instead of the top/bottom image split, the two displays lines will need to alternate as shown below:

Since a single deserializer can only support dual OLDI or single OLDI outputs, options 3 and 4 aren't possible.

    Regards,

    Logan
