TFP401: TFP401 does not output HSync when it is connected to PC's HDMI output.

When you say block 1, do you mean CEA extension 1? Do you see the video output timing changing when you included the extension?

Yes, "block 1" means CEA extension.

When EDID does not include CEA extension, TPF401 can output HSync.

I think it is due to the behavior of intel graphics.

The CEA extension 1 typically supplies extra EDID Detailed Timing Descriptors. Do you have a way to read the extension and see what was included in the extension?

Depends on the timing descriptors, the TFP401 may not able to support it.

So this is extension 3 block 1. Looking at the block 1, it says there is one detailed timing descriptor. But looking at the timing descriptor (starting at hex D and all the way to D + (18 * 1) - 1), everything is 0. I wonder if this is messing up the source. 

When the CEA extension 3 is included, are you seeing any data on the source output?

The PC can detect the monitor that includes TFP401 and PC can show monitor name described in EDID.

I wrote this EDID data to other monitor that supports HDMI, that monitor can show input video signal.

And I tried other EDID. But phenomenon does not change. Please see the following figure.

I have seen that TFP401 cannot work well with TMDS signal that includes audio data in this forum.

Could you tell us how to remove audio data from PC by EDID?

My understanding is that the audio information is in the CEA extension block, and if you disable the extension or change the extension to 1 (Hex 0x81 to 0x01), then there will be no audio.

I changed EDID,  address 0x81: 03→01.

Then TFP401 started to output HSync.

But it does not meet HDMI 1.4b.

Do you know the other way that stops audio data and meets HDMI 1.4b?

Are you referring to HDMI1.4b 3G? The TFP401 can only support pixel rates up to 165 MHz (Including 1080p and WUXGA at 60 Hz). For HDMI1.4b at 3G, the pixel rate is 300MHz.

CEA extension version of EDID must be version 03 to meet HDMI 1.4.

So we cannot set  01 as CEA extension version .

Do you know the other way to stop audio data?
