Part Number: TPS25750
Working on a sink-only application.
Details from the datasheet and the FAQ (for replacing a barrel jack with the PS25750) appear to be at odds. The FAQ's provided diagram shows a 4.7uF cap attached to the TPS25750's VBUS pins, but it does NOT connect those pins to the TPS25750's VBUS_IN pins. The datasheet (page 32, under Fig. 9-11) says "The TPS25750 is powered from either VIN_3V3 [pin] or VBUS [pins].", but I see no mention (text or diagram) that suggests an internal connection between the two pin sets. I can't tell if the confusion lies in the vagueness between VBUS pins of the TPS25750 and VBUS form the Type-C connector, or if the datasheet specifies VBUS in the diagrams when VBUS_IN is truly meant (or a combination of both).
Will the internal logic be powered if I merely hang a cap off of the TPS25750's VBUS pins to ground, and the VBUS_IN pins are the only set that connects to the Type-C connector VBUS?
