SN65DSI86: How can SN65DSI86 support 2% spread spectrum?

5000ppm is 0.5%.

Is the 2% down-spread or center-spread? The DP spec only supports down spread SSC and the 2% SSC on the REFCLK will be pass onto the DP TX, can the DP sink support 2% SSC?

if still only 0.5%, can they use external clock to achieve 2% spread spectrum.
