TVP5146M2: Searching TI solution

Part Number: TVP5146M2

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN TI product!

Customer is looking for the replacement of CH7024B (Specifications: Input RGB888, output CVBS)

Please help suggest TI solution, THX

please refer to below datasheet

  • Hi Kygo,

First of all,  we no longer provide direct technical support for TVP5146Mx on the e2e forum. You may search the E2E forum for archived posts of previous discussions which may help address your questions.

Secondly, as I understand by reading TVP5146M2 datasheet, it is a decoder rather than an encoder like CH7024B. Please see below excerpt from the datasheet. Basically, it decodes and converts analog video signals to digital component video. CH7024B is rather an encoder that encode the video inputs like RGB and YcrCb to output formats like NTSC and PAL standards. So they are doing the opposite thing.

I also don't find any encoder in https://www.ti.com/interface/hdmi-displayport-mipi/products.html. Sorry for lack of guidance. You might want to check with your local sales team.

    TVP5146M2:

1.2 Description The TVP5146M2 device is a high-quality single-chip digital video decoder that digitizes and decodes all popular baseband analog video formats into digital component video. The TVP5146M2 decoder supports the analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion of component RGB and YPbPr signals, as well as the A/D conversion and decoding of NTSC, PAL, and SECAM composite and S-Video into component YCbCr. This decoder includes four 11-bit 30-MSPS A/D converters (ADCs). Preceding each ADC in the device, the corresponding analog channel contains an analog circuit that clamps the input to a reference voltage and applies a programmable gain and offset. A total of ten video input terminals can be configured to a combination of RGB, YPbPr, CVBS, or S-Video video inputs.

    CH7024B

The CH7024 is a TV encoder device targeting handheld, portable video applications such as digital still cameras and similar portable embedded systems. The device is able to encode the video signals and generate synchronization signals for NTSC and PAL standards.

Supported TV output formats are NTSC-M, NTSC-J, NTSC-433, PAL-B/D/G/A/I, PAL-M, PAL-N and PAL60. The device accepts different data formats including RGB and YCrCb (e.g. RGB565, RGB666, RGB888, ITU656 like YCrCb, etc.) via 24 bit/18 bit/15 bit /12 bit /8 bit multiplexed digital inputs.

  • Hi Charles Tsai

Thank you so much for your help & feedback !

I will discuss this case closely with customer, .
