DP83869HM: SGMII / 100M mode with only using 2 capacitively coupled channels

Part Number: DP83869HM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83869

Just wanted to confirm that the DP83869HM ethernet part will work ok in SGMII / 100M mode with only using 2 capacitively coupled channels (A & B) on the diff transmit/receive side

I did find this e2e post here:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/791896/dp83869hm-phy-to-phy-capacitive-coupling

My understanding is that the 83867 is not a good choice due to packet loss, but the 83869 had been tested and passed capacitive coupling.   I see this post is over 3 years old, so has testing and characterization been done since this was written?

Will it still require a like part that supports cap coupling?  Why is this the case for 100M mode?
