Hello there,

I have a bit stream output from optical transceiver terminating on 4 SMA connectors with signals TX+, TX-, RX+, RX- in LVDS interface.

I am looking for a transceiver ethernet PHY capable of 100+ Mbps converting low voltage differential signal (LVDS) to ethernet twisted pair. Ideally if there is some product with already eval board with RJ45 so I do not need to design my own.

Hi Michael,

The PHY you are looking for would be DP83869HM. There is an EVM for this device also with RJ-45.

Hi Gerome,

thank you for suggested EVM. Unfortunately there are all out of stock at this moment. I need at least 3 pairs...

To add information I need following. It must be capable of etherCAT:

The PHYs have to comply with IEEE 802.3 100BaseTX or 100BaseFX

The PHYs have to support 100 Mbit/s Full Duplex links

The PHYs have to provide an MII (or RMII/RGMII1 ) interface

I also found this EVM, this should work right?

My candidate theoretically:

DP83826EVM

Other possible options

DP83822EVM

DP83825EVM

I am not sure about this EVM?

DP83848K-MAU-EK

Hi Michael,

I am having a hard time understanding your application of LVDS to ethernet, yet still have MII/RMII/RGMII capabilities. Could you please provide a block diagram to clarify?

Hi Gerome,

my mistake. There is an optical layer which transceives over light bit stream. This it within transceiver realize as LVDS signals, Tx +, Tx -, Rx +, Rx - .

Ethernet PHY should transfer LVDS signals to MII interface, which is recommended for etherCAT. EtherCAT is on top of this.

Hello,

DP83822 would be your best case. It supports MII, has 100Base-FX connection for LVDS, and can do EtherCAT.
