TPS25750: About merit of VIN_3V3 pin

Hi Team,

We would like to know merit of VIN_3V3 pin.

I understand that if VIN_3V3 pin is Low(no supply), TPS25750 is dead battery state so VBUS LDO is enable.

If VIN_3V3 pin don’t supplied 3.3V, VBUS LDO is enable so TPS25750 heats up(High current consumption).

I think that it is demerit.

Could you please let us know if you have any concern(demerit)?

Currently, our customer application have battery and DCDC for 3.3V.

So, They would like to know if they can reduce DCDC.

For cases where the TPS25750 is always a UFP (sink) There is no need to supply VIN_3V3 to the TPS25750. It is required for cases where the TPS25750 is used as a DFP (Source) or DRP(Source/Sink)

The LDO_3V3 is required for the device to be able to operate from a dead battery state or in conditions where only VBUS is a source of power.

I understand that I need to supply VIN_3V3 at DFP or DRP.

The reason is ad follows.

>If the device is locally powered (DRP or DFP,) then VIN_3V3 and PP5V must be provided internally in order to the TPS25750 to be able to connect to the type C bus.
