DS16F95QML-SP: Low dose rate testing

Hello,

even if this device is a digital product and MIL-STD-833 states that the ELDRS testing can be omitted if the device is known not to contain any linear function by design, I also find the following statement in the component's datasheet:

"These parts may be dose rate sensitive in a space environment and demonstrate enhanced low dose rate effect. Radiation end point limits for the noted parameters are ensured only for the conditions as specified in MIL-STD 883, Method 1019, condition A."

For this reason our customer is worried about the suitability of the part for the radiation environment in which we are going to use it. How can we be sure that low dose rate effect won't degrade the performance of the device? Is it possibile to purchase the component with additional low dose rate testing performed by TI?

    That statement about that the part "may be dose rate sensitive in a space environment" was blanket statement put in all space datasheets where low dose rate testing was not done.  It probably should be removed from the datasheet to avoid confusion.

    TI has not done low dose rate testing on this part but someone else has.  Results can be found in this paper:

    Let us know if this is sufficient.

    I can confirm as much, to do this would require a lot of logistics on the back-end of this device's development. This isn't something that TI can commit to.
