DP83867IS: Test mode 1: Output of test signal on all 4 channels

Part Number: DP83867IS

Hi Team,

Can you have a look at the following customer inquiry?

Yesterday I gave our functional samples with the Phys to a company for a compliance test for Gigabit Ethernet.
During the handover, we performed a short commissioning. To perform the tests according to standard, the Phys must be put into the different test modes. This is normally done with the MDIO interface.
This interface works. We can also read and write the registers using an external Arduino board and the terminal program Putty.
Since the two used Phys are back-to-back connected there is no micro-controller in our hardware. The Phys are configured via strap resistors.

But we noticed that for test mode 1, the test signal is only output on channel A.
In the register set in the datasheet and in an AppNote we saw that with the register 0x0025 we should be able to force the output of the test signal also on all 4 channels. But no matter what we write there, the signal always comes only on Channel A.

Thank you,

Franz
