TLK6002: REFERENCE CLOCK GENERATOR FOR TLK6002 SELECTION - ARS MODE

Part Number: TLK6002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM6208, TLK10022

Sir

I want to use reference clock that supports ARS mode in TLK6002.

Can i use CDM6208 CDCM6208 2:8 Clock Generator, Jitter Cleaner With Fractional Dividers?

Pls suggest me

I have not find any any clock generator in EVM design.

Regards

Ramesh

  • Hi Ramesh,

Yes, you can use the CDCM6208 as a reference clock for ARS mode in TLK6002.

This clock generator is used in the TLK10022 EVM, so you can reference the TLK10022EVM User's Guide for an implementation of it.

Below is also an example of a CDCM6208  clocking architecture that can be used to generate a 153.6 MHz clock.  Please note that the "2500 MHz" VCO frequency in the figure below should actually be 2457.6 MHz.

    Thanks,
    Drew

  • Dear Miller

    First Thanks for Quick Reply.

    One More Query

TLK6002 "TXCLK_A and TXCLK_B" pins Need HSTL Logic ( Single Ended) as per the Datasheet, But CDM6208 output is CMOS in single ended output mode. Is this ok to use the part CDM6208 directly connect TLK6002 "TXCLK_A and TXCLK_B" pins apart from "REFCLK_0_P/N (LVDS)" inputs.

    Regards

    Ramesh

  • Hi Ramesh,

Comparing the 1.8V LVCMOS output specifications on the CDM6208 to the 1.8V HSTL input specifications, it looks like this part should work.  With that said, I would recommend that you verify this on your end as well.

    Thanks,
    Drew
