DP83TG720EVM-MC: Duplicating Network Bridge DP83TG720EVM-MC

Part Number: DP83TG720EVM-MC

Hello,

I have been working to recreate the network bridge using two DP83TG720EVM-MC as noted in the following thread.

(+) DP83TG720EVM-MC: Network-Bridge with DP83TG720EVM-MC Media Converter Evaluation Module - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support forums

  1. I changed J2 and configured boards one as master and the other slave.
  2. I am capable of transferring data PC#1 to PC#2 over RJ45 with no issues.
  3. How do you get the "Complete Debug Status Report"  that was executed in the forums thread?
  4. I followed the remainder of the thread but I am not successful with getting any data.  Can you provide me with the proper registers I should be modifying and the appropriate data to write to set each board to get data across?

  • Hi Evelyn,

    • Could you check register 0x0001 bit[2] for 720 board to see if they are link up?
    • Could you also check register 0x0011 bit[10] for 867 boards to see if 867 are link to the PC?

  • I verified register 0x0001 = 0145 (720 PHY) and register 0x0011 = bc16 (867 PHY) board#1 where the appropriate bits reads link is up as well on board#2 0x0001 = 0145 (720 PHY) and register 0x0011 = 796d (867 PHY) link is up.  I was playing around with the IPv4 ip addresses like in the thread. Instead of customizing the ip address, I choose the "obtain an IP address automatic" and it was fixed.  Thanks for you help.

  • Hi Evelyn,

    Glad that works for you.
