PCF8575: Internal Pull-Up at IO-Pins

Part Number: PCF8575
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9555, PCF8574

Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with PCF8575. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

I am currently creating a board with the following IO-Expanders:
PCF8575    PCF8574   PCA9555
I have to use some of the IOs as Inputs and wonder if I can use it without external Pull-up Resistors.

The datasheet for the PCA9555 shows a 100 kOhm to VCC => seems to be okay.
The datasheet for the PCF8574 shows a 100 µA  at 8.2.2 Simplified Schematic Diagram of Each P-Port Input/output  => seems to be okay.

The datasheet for the PCF8575 shows a 100 mA  (0.1 A) at  8.2.2 Simplified Schematic Diagram of Each P-Port Input/ Output?

Is this 100 mA correct in the Datasheet or do I misunderstand this value?
100mA per Input seems to be a very high value. e.g. when using maybe 8 Inputs with the internal "pull-up".

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent
