DS90UH949-Q1: Disable HDCP to work with UB Serializer

Hello,

My customer would like to source DS90UH940N-Q1 in place of the DS90UB940N-Q1 to keep production running. Their product is already in production and paired with a DS90UB949-Q1 Serializer.

Can the HDCP function be disabled on the UH940N and work with the non HDCP UB949 Serializer
Is the UH940N compatible and is it still under warranty when connected to a UB Serializer in production?
Can you confirm the Ux940N devices are P2P with no HW changes?

HDCP is not enabled by default. It needs to be enabled through SW

Yes

Yes. One thing to watch out for though is that sometimes the customer SW may read the device ID in 0xF0-0xF5 to check if the partner device matches. The UH and UB have a different ASCII code so that could cause some difference in the behavior. Check with the customer to make sure their SW does not require the UB version ASCII code.
