TS3DV642-Q1: TS3DV642-Q1

Part Number: TS3DV642-Q1

HI EXPERTS ,

I HAVE DESIGN THAT I USE THIS MUX  AS MIPI MUX.

1. AT THE EVB OF TI RELATED TO THIS MUX  ALL THE DATA LANES ARE CONNECTED TO 0.22U CAPACITOR DOES IT NECESARY?

2. AT THE EVB, THE MUX OUTPUT LANES ARE CONNECTED  WITH  0 OHM RESISTOR TO VCC WHAT IS THE PERPUSE SHOULD I DO THE SAME IN MY DESIGN?

3. PINS THAT ARE NOT USED LIKE SCL , SDA  TO LEAVE IT FLOAT OR CONNECT THEM TO GROUND?

4. IN MY DESIGN GROUP "A" IS 4 LANES WITH 1 CLK , GROUP "B" IS ONLY 1 LANE AND 1 CLK, WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE 3 LANES (B1+-,B2+-,B3+-) THAT I ARE NOT USED?

 THX,

AMI

TS3DV642-Q1 is a generic MUX that can support both AC-coupled and DC-coupled interface. For example, the DisplayPort specification requires AC coupling capacitors in the range of 75 – 200nF on the TX. By default, the TS3DV642- Q1 EVM is populated with 0Ω resistors on the input and output which can be replaced with capacitors if needs depending on the specific application requirement.

    2. AT THE EVB, THE MUX OUTPUT LANES ARE CONNECTED  WITH  0 OHM RESISTOR TO VCC WHAT IS THE PERPUSE SHOULD I DO THE SAME IN MY DESIGN?

The TS3DV642-Q1 EVM includes external termination resistors option on the Port D if you want to implement your own termination scheme. For example, if the system common mode voltage is outside the TS3DV642-Q1 common mode voltage range of 0-3.6V, then you want to AC couple both the TS3DV642-Q1 input and output to block the system common mode voltage. With both the input and the output being AC coupled, you still need to provide a common mode voltage to TS3DV642-Q1 which can be done with the external 50ohm termination to VCC.

When populating the external termination resistors, it is important to provide the external termination through the banana jack plug VTERM and GND. For now, the EVM leaves the external termination resistors to be un-populated.

    3. PINS THAT ARE NOT USED LIKE SCL , SDA  TO LEAVE IT FLOAT OR CONNECT THEM TO GROUND?

Unused pin can be left floating.

    4. IN MY DESIGN GROUP "A" IS 4 LANES WITH 1 CLK , GROUP "B" IS ONLY 1 LANE AND 1 CLK, WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE 3 LANES (B1+-,B2+-,B3+-) THAT I ARE NOT USED?

    B1+-,B2+-,B3+- can be left floating.

    Thanks
