DS100BR210: DS100BR210

Part Number: DS100BR210

Hello,

We are using the DS100BR210 in 10G-KR Mode. (Back-plane)

It is configured as follows:
ENSMB = 0   (Pin Mode)
VOD_SEL = 1 (10G-KR Mode)
VDD_SEL = 0 (3.3V Operation)
MODE = 1    (10GbE Mode, Continuous Talk)
TX_DIS = 0  (OUTA and OUTB Enabled)
SD_TH = Float (180 mVpp, 110 mVpp (Default)

Since this is a 10G-KR mode with auto negotiation what logic level should the following be tied to?
EQA1,EQA0
EQB1,EQB0
DEMA, DEMB

Can they be let floating?

THANKS
Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

    For KR mode, MODE pin should be floating.

    Also to allow highest linearity and allowing different KR training to go through the device, set EQ levels all to level 1(lowest settings). Based on the amount of equalization needed, you may need to try other settings as well - but we should always start with the lowest settings first. This means we need to provide option to enable other EQ levels. DEM are active in 10GbE or back channel GbE mode only.
