Hello All,

Our requirement is to have non sycn external clock mode in the serializer. In datasheet we have two OSC selection criteria. How to select Oscillator for our requirement.  Deserializer in the external module would be either 936 or 954.

    Hello,

    The difference between these two selections is the CLKIN_DIV value and the calculated values like FC rate. You should choose an oscillator to be compatible with your desired data rate and clk_out values. The chosen CLKIN frequency can be any value within the range listed in this table. Based on the chosen frequency you'll set the proper CKIN_DIV value to ensure that the device functions properly. For example with 50 MHz and CLKIN_DIV = 1 the forward channel rate would be 4Gbps, but with CLKIN_DIV = 2 the forward channel rate would be 2Gbps. As long as you stay within the ranges listed in the table, your oscillator will be supported.
