Hi
I'm using two DP83TG720EVM-MC one configured as Master other as slave ( header pin placed 1-2 on one & 2-3 on other).
So according to datasheet I should see D2 light up when link is down. D3 light up when link is established(master) and D4 light up when link is establish(slave).
However I see D2,D3 light up on master board & D2,D4 light up on slave board. Isn't that contradictory ? As if the two boards are recognizing each other as master and slave then link is established and D2 should be off ?
Thanks
Hi Priyam,
D2 lights up when link is up and is off when link is down. Please see the snippet below form the EVM user guide.
The behavior you are seeing is as expected.

Hi Gokul,
Thanks for answering that. But as I can see the snippet provided by you is from DP83TC812EVM-MC datasheet, The snippets provided by me earlier was from DP83TG720EVM-MC datasheet (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/snlu289/snlu289.pdf) (page 5). As they both are media converter evk's can i assume it is still true and just a error in datasheet of DP83TG720EVM-MC user guide ?
Thanks again,
Priyam
