Hi team,
My customer use DP83826I in EtherCaT RMII master mode, as attached post discussed. They set set strap1=mode0 and strap8=mode1, and other straps according to table-2 of DP83826 EtherCat AN.
But DP83826 cannot link on their PCB.
We noticed there is a strap guidance for DP83826 enhance mode, may I know:
Which configuration should be used for RMII master & EtherCat mode?
What mode should configure for strap 1 and strap 7?
Thank you!
Best regards
Yunjing
Yunjing,
I consulted with David Creger (the Applications engineer who responded to the attached E2E post,) and he reaffirmed that it is not possible to use RMII Master & EtherCAT mode with straps only; This requires a different software configuration. I have set up another meeting with him tomorrow afternoon and will update you as soon as possible. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jason Lee
Jason,
Good day to you!
May I know if you got any update about the configuration for DP83826 using as RMII Master & EtherCAT mode?
We did a test with customer, the strap 1 need configure to mode 1, and strap 7 need configure as mode 0[CSR_DV].
While David suggest to configure strap 1 to mode 0 in this post[https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1133735/faq-dp83826e-in-enhanced-mode-how-does-dp83826-strapping-work], but strap 1=mode 0 cannot get 50MHz REF CLKOUT from DP83826 based on customer test result[real test output 25MHz or 2.5MHz].
May I know what will strap 1 effect on? Why strap1=mode0 make DP83826 cannot output 50MHz REFCLKOUT? Thank you!
BTW, is DP83826E have totally same register with DP83826I?
Best regards
Yunjing
