TUSB422: UFP + Power Source

Yes, the TUSB422 should be able to do this, though I don't know if we have any chip that can reduce the amount of FW Work needed to be done.

In order to have the TUSB422 work as both a UFP and Power source, you first need to set both as UFP and Power Sink. After that you can do a Power Role Swap to switch the Power Sink Role to Power Source. For this, I recommend looking at section 7.4.3 in the datasheet.

If its O.K with you, if you can provide a block diagram or perhaps describe the system and how the TUSB422 is going to be used, I may be able to help you look at alternatives or help show how the TUSB422 can be used in your system.

Hi Ryan,

I was planning something simple. An AC/DC converter generates fixed 5V, max 3A. An MCU is configured as a USB device mode. The tablet in this case is a USB host. I'd like to charge/communicate with the tablet via a type C connector.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
