DS90UB947-Q1: DS90UB947-Q1

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB948-Q1

Dear community,
I am working with DS90UB947-Q1(Serializer) and DS90UB948-Q1(Deserializer). The bouth are configured to work in single FPD-Link 3 mode. It works well in the single FPD-Link 3 mode.
I have to configure the bouth to wirk in dual FPD-Link 3 mode. From the data sheet, I have configured the bouth as follow:
DS90UB947-Q1:
register:
0x5B = 0x82.
DS90UB948-Q1:
registers:
0x34 = 0x09
0x49 = 0x00

For the DS90UB948-Q1 I check the configuration with 0x1C register:

0x1C = 0x13

the DUAL_RX_STS is set,  but DUAL_TX_STS is not set.

For the DS90UB947-Q1 I check the configuration with 0x5A register:

0x5A = 0xCD

The configuration look good in the Serialiser.

But in the Deserializer the DUAL_TX_STS is not set.

I write the configuration, but nothing is happend. They continue working in the single FPD-Link mode.

Do I do something wrong or I miss something in the configuration.

Best Regards,
Iordan.

  • Hi Iordan,

    Can you share some additional hardware information, such as schematic? Are you using TI Evaluation Modules (EVMs) or custom PCB? Picture of the set up will also be helpful.

    Best,

    Shu

  • Hello Shu,
    Thanke you for the answear, we using custom PCB, I can not share hardware Picture. But my question was is this the right way to set the bouth Serializer and deserializer from single FPD.Link3 mode to dual FPD-Link 3 mode. Beacause in the data sheet this is the way. Or I hafe to do something more, for example some more information about the register configuration or in witch order I hafe to do this configuration?
    Best Regards,
    Iordan.

  • Hi Iordan,

    I missed this item in the confirmation but do you see an improvement when setting 0x5B = 0x83?

    All the other configurations are correct and there are not other steps and which is why I am asking for additional hardware information.

    Best,

    Shu

  • Hello Shu,
    thank you for the for the answer. I did not work in the last days on this task, I worked on another problem. Thank you for the information I will test this configuration 0x5B = 0x83. This will happend after christmas or in the next year.
    I wish you merry christmas an all good things in the next year,
    Iordan.

  • Hi Iordan,

    Thank you for letting me know. I will wait to help you when you have further questions. Happy Holidays Slight smile

    Best,
