TS3DV642: Pull-up/Pull-down resistors on SDA and SCL pins

Part Number: TS3DV642

Customer have a follow up question on the pull-up/pull-down resistors populated on the SDA and SCL pins:

"

In our application we have 2 display port connectors.  From the datasheet, the AUX pull-ups and pull-downs are drawn on the connector side.

Can we put them only on the controller side, as shown below?"

  • Hi,

The DisplayPort sink uses the AUX common mode voltage to detect the connection of a powered or un-powered source (graphic and memory controller). When moving the pullup/pulldown to the other side, you lose the sink individual connection detection capability.

    Thanks
