USB-C & PD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25750, TPS65987D, TPS25810, TPS2511

Hi Team,

I want to ask if we have a single device that can handle the requirement below in a single chip.

4 outputs = 2x type A ports + 1 type C + 1 Micro B

If not, can you suggest a single-port/dual-port control as well? I need 2S charging chip that has a discharge control & monitoring option if possible.

The application is for a Wireless Power Bank mentioned here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1196932/wireless-bms

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi,

TI US in on holiday today, we will get back to you tomorrow when we are back in office.

    Regards.

  • Hi Marvin,

For the USB Type-A ports and the Micro B port, the best solution would be to use a TPS2511 for each port. This integrates the BC1.2 and legacy charger advertisement as well as the power path. For the Type-C port, if they only want 15W out, then the TPS25810 would be a good part. If they want to support Type-C PD, and have the Type-C port only act as a power source, then the TPS65987D would be the best option. If they want to have the Type-C port be bi-directional in power, then the TPS25750 would be the best part to recommend.
