DS90UB927QEVM: Issue installing USB driver for 927 EVM

I have read the post below and tried to follow the instructions posted there.

However, "NSC ALP Nano" is not listed in my computer. We know the diver is Cypress CyUSB3 but to install the driver a correct device type must be selected.

So the question is: what type of device should I select since "NSC ALP Nano" is not listed? Can the driver be installed without selecting specific device type?

Hi Hamzeh,

The problem I'm having is a bit different.

When the board is connected the computer sees the device but no driver is installed. Right click NSC USB NANO and update driver, this window pops up

Search automatically for drivers doesn't find the driver. Click Browse my computer for drivers, this window pops up

Searching ALP folder doesn't find the driver. Click Let me pick.... this window pops up

it asks you to select device type. Now here is the problem. The device type list doesn't have the device type mentioned in the posts I read. What kind of device type should I pick?

Since this is a more than 10 years old technology, why can you provide a download so Windows can automatically install the driver?

Hello Fred,

Have you download the driver file for Cypress CyUSB drivers from the website location, before starting the steps? You can download it from here.

Hi Hamzeh,

Yes, I downloaded the driver and let Windows search the driver from the folder (including subfolders) that contains drivers for all versions of Windows. Windows can't find the driver. I guess the problem is that the EVM doesn't tell Windows properly what type of device it is and the Windows don't know which driver should be installed. This explains why no correct device type is listed during manually installation. At this point we just need your help to find a way to install the driver.

I am afraid there is no other way for installing this. I just tested it on my computer, and it worked as expected! Please try on a different computer.

Hi Hamzeh,

What Windows version do you have? I have Windows 10 Enterprise, version 20H2. Do Windows automatically detect the driver for the EVM in you computer or do you need to manually install?
