TUSB9261DEMO: Need help to enable UASP and HID support

Hi ,

I had ordered TUSB9261 device recently. In the spec sheet it shows it has HID,MSC/BOT and MSC/UASP support. But in my case it only supports MSC/BOT only.

I found couple of chat forum links mentioning that from latest firmware these are disabled by default.

Can you please help me with some software / script to check and update the firmware version to support HID and UASP ?

Hi Sharath,

The previous engineer that supported this device is no longer at TI. In order to create this modified firmware I will need to build the TUSB9261 from the source code. Please allow me a day or two to setup the development environment to do this.

By the way, the TUSB9261 source code is available through the TUSB9261 Product Page. If there is a developer on your team they can modify it themselves accordingly.

Unfortunately, we do not have any developers or resources available to assist us at this time.

So, we'll wait 1-2 days so you can prepare your setup and develop the new firmware.

Just a reminder, we need firmware that supports both HID and UASP.(since BOT is already supported by default).

Please notify me as soon as you complete the firmware modification.

Hi Sharath,

Attached is the older v1.04 version of the firmware, which has UASP support. The HID support must be enabled via the FlashBurner as Malik described in the issue you linked to.

Please use this version for your application. The software is provided as-is and is unsupported.

Thanks for providing the required firmware in such short amount of time.

I'll try the firmware provided by you for UASP and also the procedure mentioned by Malik for HID and get back to you if I face any issues.

Hi Nicholaus,

I don't see the program icon being highlighted even selecting the device and hex file path. How should I flash the firmware?

Hi Sharath,

Based on the TUSB9260 Flash Burner - User Guide (Rev. D) (ti.com) it looks like the firmware should be programmed through the HID interface. This can be done by erasing the current firmware.

After erasing, you can check and make sure the device driver is loaded correctly by referring to section 5.1 in the document. Sometimes there are issues with driver signing enforcement on Windows. If you run into this issue, you can disable driver signing enforcement on Windows by going to Change advanced startup options, restarting, selecting "change startup settings" during reboot, and selecting "disable driver signing enforcement". Or you can search for other methods for your version of Windows, there are instructional videos and articles online.
