DS90UB953-Q1: 1.6Ghz exceeded the standard in RE test

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hello ,expert

When taking EMI experiments for the ADAS ECU, 1.6GHz noise level exceeded the RE test standard,

Using the spectrometer test it , 1.6GHz noise can be detected between the 953 and connector.

Now 953 is connected to an external 50M  oscillator, which works in non-synchronous mode

and output  DVR signal from  ADAS ECU to the 960 in external cockpit controller.

The question is:

1,Please tell me the method  of spread spectrum for the 953 and the opposite 960 .

2,The PCB trace of the 953 FPDlink is on the bottom layer, can I layout the FPD link trace  in inner layer to improve EMI performance?

thang you.

  • Hello Jasper,

Please tell me the method  of spread spectrum for the 953 and the opposite 960 .

The 953 does not support SS on the External oscillator mode. This is supported on the DES side. You can connect the 960 to an Oscillator with SS and provide the CLK over the back channel to the SER.

The PCB trace of the 953 FPDlink is on the bottom layer, can I layout the FPD link trace  in inner layer to improve EMI performance?

Yes, keeping the FPD link trace short and burry it in the inner layers may help improving EMI performance.
