TLK2711-SP: Interfacing FPGA with Parallel TTL Data Interface

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

Hi,

In my design I have a TLK2711-SP and want to connect it to a Kintex Ultrascale. I'm going to use the 16-Bit Parallel TTL-Compatible Data Interface from the TLK2711-SP to connect it to the I/Os FPGA.

The TLK2711-SP use a TTL interface and I'm not sure if it's fully compatible with LVTTL or LVCMOS I/Os. Can you confirm me this?

Thank you!

Best regards!

  • Hello,

We are reviewing this and will get back with you shortly.

    Thanks,

    Zach

  • Hi Rodrigo,

Regarding TLK2711-SP TTL output compatibility with your FPGA:

    • TLK2711-SP Vol_max = 0.5V.  This stays within your FPGA Vil_max.
    • TLK2711-SP Voh_min = 2.1V.  This exceeds your FPGA Vih_min.
    • TLK2711-SP Voh_max is shown as 2.7V in datasheet figure 2.  This stays within your FPGA Vih_max.

Regarding your FPGA output compatibility with TLK2711-SP TTL input:

    • FPGA Vol_max = 0.4V.  This stays within TLK2711-SP Vil_max of 0.8V.
    • FPGA Voh_min = (Vcco-0.4V) or 2.4V. TLK2711-SP Vih_min is 1.7V.  Please ensure Vcco-0.4V exceeds 1.7V.
    • FPGA Voh_max is not listed.  Please ensure it stays within the levels shown in TLK2711-SP datasheet Figure 1.

In general, it looks like your FPGA is compatible with TLK2711-SP TTL levels, but please verify highlighted items.

    Thanks,

    Drew
