ONET4251PA: ONET4251PA:

Part Number: ONET4251PA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ONET4201PA

A question was asked about " if the device could be used below 1Gbps. Actual data rate planned to use is from 150Mbps to around 2.5Gbps." The response was that the device would operate at 150Mbps but the specs would not be guaranteed. Can you expand on the minimum data rate operation? I am looking for a limiting amp with a scalable data rate from 1Gbps on the high end to as low as 10Kbps on the low end. Is there a way to clarify what the minimum data rate is and what parameters would be out of spec?

  • Same question for the ONET4201PA, ONET3501PA, and ONET2501PA. These specify 155Mbps on the low-end. Can they be used at much lower data rates?

  • Hi Wayne,

These devices were designed for optical communication. For these applications, minimum data rate are 155Mbps - this is Sonet OC3 interface. As such, these parts were not designed or validated for these lower data rates. Therefor data sheet specifications apply to 155Mbps and higher data rates. Performance due to these lower data rates are not known and it is not recommended.
