TLK2711-SP: PRBS RKLSB relationship to RXCLK

When in PRBS mode, RKLSB indicates a pass/fail result. Does RKLSB change on every RXCLK, according to the validity of the data that was received? i.e. can this be used to count the number of errors received?

Hi Joe,

I performed a bench experiment using TLK1501EVM, a part which is functionally very similar to TLK2711-SP. I used an external JBERT to transmit 1 Gbps PRBS7 data with injected bit errors to the TLK device. I connected RX_CLK and PRBS_PASS (equivalent to RKLSB on TLK2711-SP) to an oscilloscope. Based on this capture, I see that PRBS_PASS was pulled low for 1 RX_CLK cycle, corresponding to 1 bit error. Therefore, I expect that RKLSB on TLK2711-SP will update every RX_CLK cycle based on the validity of data received.
