I would like to tag Gerome Cacho to kindly have a look and maybe point us to the correct TI colleague.
thank you very much for your reply.
the post you are pointing does not include all known bug fixes. somewhere in this forum is another zip file that fixed a bug in this driver regarding the auto negotiation of the link.
Is it possible to point me to a git repo instead of zip files?
this git repo your documentation (https://www.ti.com/tool/ETHERNET-SW) is pointing to is not up to date. https://git.ti.com/gitweb?p=ti-analog-linux-kernel/dmurphy-analog.git;a=commit;h=3d6df168b5e740fecc50cee1bd1335cee19258df
your the latest post is equal to one posted in this thread: e2e.ti.com/.../4596514
but i believe without the fix suggested at the end of the thread?
Hi Eyke,
The driver I shared has the autonegotiation fix that you mentioned. Please try this driver and share any error logs that occur.
Thanks,
David
We believe there are still issues in your driver. We fixed some parts.
Are you interested in these fixes?
Hi Eyke,
Yes please share what you have found, including any screenshots of error messages if possible.
Thanks,
David
We would happily make a pull request. Can you point me to the git repo where we can make a commit?
Hello Eyke,
David is out of office and will reply when he returns on monday.
Thank you for your patience.
Regards,
Avtar
Do you plan to bring the driver into the mainline kernel?
In that case we would be happy to contribute.
Hi Eyke,
Please submit an issue on our Github here. https://github.com/TexasInstruments/ti-ethernet-software/
Thanks,
David
nice, thank you. we will consider it.
Are you planning to bring the driver in mainline?
This would be a strong motivation for contributions since it ensures future support and maintanence ...
Hi Eyke,
It is part of the plan, yes, but we do not have a timeline at the moment. Please submit the issue on Github for now.
Thanks,
David
