Hi Team,

When connected through LAN cable, the communication is failed and the display of screen is not normal if the length of cable exceeds 2 meters. So please check an attachment and recommend the redriver or retimer solution. The EDID, CEC, HPD signals of HDMI source are not connected to the redriver or retimer, the only TMDS signals are connected to it. And the customer is considering to design the configuration of method 2.

Can you send me the control pins settings you are using for this system. Additionally please consider using the SN65DP149 or the SN65DP159 for your application. The DS34RT5110 is not recommended for new designs.

Additionally what is the insertion loss of the LAN cable? It could be that the loss off the LAN cable exceeds the EQ capability of the DS34RT5110.

Hi Vishesh,

There are no control pins settings on this system. They are looking for the redriver or retimer that can transmit TMDS signals. And DS34RT5110 is just a example device. I think that SN65DP149/159 are not met on their requirement. Could you recommend any other devices for that?

Oh I see, sorry for the miscommunication. What HDMI version are you using? Here are some possible redrivers and retimers you can use.

Hi Vishesh,

Thanks for your support. Customer is considering TDP0604 and TMDS181 for this application and they want to design TPD0604 instead TMDS181 due to competitive price. Does it setup as strap mode instead I2C mode?

Hey Jeffrey,

The TDP0604 can be set up in either pin-strap or I2C mode, both are an option.
