Hi,

we use TCAN1146 in our design, I want to know in multidrop can we connect nINT/SDO lines like as shown in picture to save extra BOM cost on external mux? what care we need to take in firmware ?

since we use 11 CAN Transceivers in multidrop way but shown for 3 devices only. We want to avoid using extra mux. Please suggest earliest.

Also In TCAN1146 Interrupt is generated on what conditions? is it only in fault conditions?

Shirish,

Yes, you can connect the SPI lines of TCAN114x-Q1 together like this as long as the MCU has direct control of the nCS pins. That is the intent of the nCS pins, to select which SPI controller is active in parallel system. The nINT pins indicates interrupts shown in registers 0x51, 0x52, 0x53, and 0x54.
