I have a question, does GRSTz need to connect a capacitor to ground? What is the difference?

Customers have tested it and there is no problem when connecting USB3.0 type-A (AMD Native port) through an adapter card.

1.Which Register can know whether Downstream exists?

2.. Is there any other direction in which we can do some verification?

Hi Gareth:

    External Cap  on GRST may not an issue if you can control GRST and make sure it's low for at least 3ms after 1.1v and 3.3v are stable.

 there is no Register  to know if Downstream device exists or not, but you can use USBTREEVIEW tool in windows or lsusb -t -v in Linux to show what downstream stream devices are existing or not.

  Did customer do any changes based on my review? or we can have a call with customer to see what to do next.

Update experimental results:

Register Offset 5h changed to 30 → Fail

In addition, the picture below shows the USB waveform when the Module is not recognized.

CH1:Hub Upstream TX

CH2:Hub Downstream TX

CH1: Hub Downstream RX

CH2: Hub Downstream TX

Downstream 4 ports are all connected to Device  only the 5G module cannot be caught

don't understand  why Upstream port sending receiver detect signal when upstream port connected to host.

Can customer take waveform on upstream port TX as well for working case?

I mentioned to you the USB2.0 eye Pattern before This part is the “Downstream port” Adjust the value of USB_R1, adjust it downward to 9K, right? At present, customers have tried to adjust it from the SoC side (through BIOS), but it is ineffective. So now you may have to make adjustments from the USB HUB side. I just want to confirm with you once.

what did customer try to do though BIOS? improve USB2 eye? 

to improve USB2 eye, you need to lower USB_R1.
