I installed the snlc055e (SigCon Architect EVM GUI setup with RTE) on my windows 10 PC. Turned on the 2.5V power supply, connect the USB to the PC (also tried to connect USB first then turn on 2.5V), then open the SigCon Architect GUI, I always get the same message "There are no USB2ANY interface detected". I also tried to tie J193 pin 1-2 and pin 3-4 (the board came with them open), still no luck. So I wonder what else can be wrong. Do I need to update the MSP430 firmware? How to do that? The EVM kit came with a SPA dongle, but the user guide did not talk about how to use the dongle.

Also there is one weird thing happened on this board. The 3.3V power supply is shot with ground (verified this with multimeter). I wonder why? Did I get a bad board? I can only use 2.5V power supply.

Hi Wendy,

1. Can you confirm that you have the same jumper settings as I do?

2. When you plug in the USB cable from your computer to the EVM, what does D36 look like?

3. When you checked the 3.3V supply, can you confirm you measured at TP9?

4. Can you confirm you removed the jumper on J198 and placed at least one jumper on J204 when powering the board with 3.3V?

Thank you Lucas for your reply. Removing jumper on J198 and placing one jumper on J204 solved the 3.3V short-to-gnd issue. Now I can power up using 3.3V. I set the rest jumpers exactly as shown in your picture, but still no USB2ANY interface detected. When I plug in the USB from my pc to the evm, D36 light up immediately (bright red).

Hi Wendy,

I'm glad the 3.3V supply issue is resolved.

It may be necessary to reflash your on-board USB2ANY. Please download the following USB2ANY Explorer application.

Please connect your EVM to your PC with the USB cable before launching this software. I expect a window will pop up asking if you want to flash the device. Let me know if this resolves the issue or not.
