TS3DV642: CEC leakage current

I can't figure out what TI's solution is. Could you please explain clearly how to verify it?

I only test TI TS3DV642 MUX CNC_A pin18 leakage current test result is 3.68uA over spec<1.8uA.
My question is, have you confirmed on the EVM that the leakage current can pass the specification? Another question is that TS3DV642 has passed HDMI certification. Is there a certification number?

Hey Jared,

I'm working on finding and getting that data to you. While I do that please try the test method I provided in our call this morning. 

Today, we measured CEC_A and CEC_B using your suggested circuit. The results measured on our board and the TI MUX alone were both 3.9uA.

But there is a 1M ohm resistor in series and the leakage current drops to 0.168uA. It can be confirmed that it is the internal CEC pin to ground resistor of Chip MUX about 1M ohm.

Here is he CEC leakage test report. Can you explain the 1Mohm solution you have right now?

Because the 1M resistor is added just for testing, because the resistor is large and the current is small, the signal is distorted.

Understood, yeah the 1Mohm solution wont work in an end product. It seems this device is unable to meet the CEC spec, but I am working with Paul to see if we are able to find a lot that may have lower leakage numbers. Do you have a  project name/ units per year for this design. This is for tracking purposes

I suggested to Paul Yeh that we use a low leakage single channel mux for the CEC pin, and keep using the TS3DV642 for the high speed connections. Would that possibly work for your system?

The project has entered the certification and production stage. Because we are under the pressure of product launch time, we will not make any HW modifications. We are still looking for solutions.

Unfortunately we do not have any parts that can meet this CEC spec and HDMI speed needed.
