Hi,

When I was looking for HDMI2.1 solution I happened to get to following thread, and I have a question.

Could you advise me why you could say TDP1204 is suiteble for source and TMDS1204 for sink?

Hi David,
Thank you for sharing information.

I'm curious on TDP1204 because it has DDC buffer and it might be possible to eliminate discrete level shifter.

Do you suppose using TDP1204 for sink configuration will bring some issues?

Or using TMDS1204 is better use for sink as other mentioned?

Hi,

You can use TDP1204 with its DDC buffer in a sink side application as shown below, but you will lose certain features that are only available in TMDS1204.

So both TDP1204 and TMDS1204 can be used in a source or a sink application, it comes down which features are best fit for your system design need.
