LMH0397: no lock

Part Number: LMH0397

Tool/software:

We configure the chip as a 75ohm cable driver or cable equalizer through software.
The attachment is a document I wrote on the TI website before when I mentioned CPR. It contains a description of the problem and screenshots of the waveforms of the good and faulty chips measured after configuring LMH0397 for output.
Please see if there is any need for additional explanation of the situation;

If a card uses 8 LMH0397 and all 8 SDI IOs are configured as inputs, a DVB-ASI signal is connected and an LED light is connected to the lock, which keeps flashing, indicating that it is not locked; The impedance configuration is 75 ohms;

  • Hi Ping,

    Reviewed pdf file you had enclosed. Thanks for the detailed report.

    These 8 LMH0397 devices that you are using now, is there any port that has flickering lock indication?  I am hoping you have one of these parts soldered to the board. Please below note an experiment:

    On the port that has flickering lock, what happens if you connect cable to this part only - the other 7 ports not connected. Do you see still see flickering lock?

    Regards, Nasser
