DS90UB933-Q1: Ask about the risk if the T1 is less than 0

Hi FPD Link Team,

As for this question, we do need your help to answer, thanks in advance~

(+) DS90UB933-Q1: Ask some question about the application - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support forums

My customer couldn't change the hardware anymore, so they care about the risk:

1. If UB933 T1 power up timing isn't satisfied, what may take place, and how many PPM the risk will be ;
2. If UB933 T1 power up timing isn't satisfied, does no-output phenomenon will appear? If yes, do we have any way to monitor it? And do we have any ways to recover it, like pull down PDB or IIC configuration?

Best Regards,

Jack

  • Hi Jack,

    Thanks for reaching out for this question. Please see feedback below:

    1. It's important to follow datasheet spec here, ser/des may not lock if datasheet is not followed.
    2. Method to monitor would be no lock from deserializer side. There are a number of reasons which the SER/DES would not lock, lock signal would be the option available on the des / SOC side to check for this. There is also a programming sequence which may be used to recover UB933 start up issue if customer has local I2C access to serializer. Please see below:

    These requirements have been in the datasheet for some time now, I don't think they should be surprise to customer. Please help customer understand that they must follow datasheet recommendations to prevent future issues from occurring.

    Best,

    Thomas
