Now , we have an issue that the SQI is still poor, but it links up normally and pings normally.

Hi Wang,

Low SQI can be caused by several factors such as schematic/layout design, damage, noise in the environment, etc.

Can you please share your schematic and layout with me to review.

Is it just one board showing low SQI or are many boards all showing low SQI?

Hi Wang,

What value of SQI are you seeing? What is the link partner, is it another DP83TC814 board? What length ethernet cable are you using? Please try also with a different ethernet cable and let me know if the result is any different.

Are the ESD diodes populated? You may try without ESD diodes populated to see if any difference is made.
