TRS3221E: Clarification on Dimensions and Index Marking in TRS3221E Datasheet

Part Number: TRS3221E

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding the mechanical dimensions specified in the TRS3221E datasheet (Page 31). I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the following points:

  1. Regarding "SIDE WALL METAL THICKNESS DIM A," the datasheet mentions OPTION 1 (0.1) and OPTION 2 (0.2). Could you please clarify what these two options specifically refer to?

  2. Could you provide the tolerance (max/min) for the "SIDE WALL METAL THICKNESS DIM A" values of 0.1 and 0.2?

  3. Concerning the 1-pin index mark, the datasheet (Page 31) only highlights the general area:

    • Is the index located at the edge closest to Pin 1?
    • Is the index shape a solid white-filled circle?

The specific part I am referring to is TRS3221EIRGTR.

Thank you for your support and for clarifying these details.

Best regards,
Ayano

  • Hi Ayano,

The first two questions I don't have an answer to myself. I have reached out to our packaging team to see if they can provide comment on it.

For question 3, the top marking of the device will have a dot on the edge to signify pin 1.

  • Hi Ayano,

    From the packaging team:

"1) Sidewall metal thickness refers to the thickness of the Cu lead at the side of the package."

"2) These are typical dimensions, we do not spec min/max."

Additionally, I asked for more information on what option 1 and option 2 are:

"Depending on which AT is making this specific package, you can have either option. It refers to the LF thickness that site is using to build this package (i.e. AT1 will use a 0.1mm sidewall, AT2 will use a nominal 0.2mm sidewall)."

  • Hi Bobby,

Thank you for your responses and for reaching out to the packaging team!
The information you’ve provided is very helpful and will assist greatly in our pattern design.

    I appreciate your support.

    Best regards,
    Ayano
