Hi,

  Regarding SN1021 chip, when the bus is short circuit (short power supply/short ground), due to the presence of 200mA large current input in LIN pin or VSUP pin, when asked before, it is said that the maintenance time of short circuit is related to overheat protection (about us~ms) -- when the junction temperature rises to overtemperature protection, the transmitter is closed.There is no need for a large current of 200mA.

However, according to the junction temperature calculation formula TJ=Ta+P*Rja is much higher than the rated junction temperature, how to evaluate whether there is any risk?

Is there a transient junction temperature parameter?

    Hi Yunmiao,

    Unfortunately, we do not have a transient junction temperature parameter.

    However, note that if the calculation exceeds the specified TJ, this implies the device reaches shutdown quickly. Hence, the actual peak junction temp would not reach stead-state calculations, thanks.
