Tool/software:
Hi team,
What is the correspondence between SP and EQ in the MAP tool?
Also, what is the EQ gain corresponding to each level of EQ?
Is the EQ of MAP the same as the EQ described in the following table?

Hi Lucy,
Thanks for your question. Strobe position in UB964 is a bit different as there are 12 strobe positions in this device rather than the 14 which are present in UB960. The EQ code is read back in the EQ status register which is shown below:

Hi Lucy,
These questions would be best answered within the attached application note.
snla301 - Margin Analysis Program (MAP) and strobe positions for UB954 and UB960.pdf
Please let me know if there's any further details I can provide.
Best,
Thomas
Hi Lucy,
The FPD RX EQ is set during adaptation to a state where there are not errors on the link. EQ1 and EQ2 both contain 8 EQ levels, for the full 16 levels available on this device

Thomas
Hi Lucy,
The EQ1 and EQ2 stages work together to create the 15 stages of EQ in the FPD RX. Unfortunately, we cannot share the details on EQ gain for each stage.
Best,
Thomas
