The eval board doesn't work out of the box. C24 is missing on the board. It is connected to the internal charge pump. After installation it starts working. We bought 2 boards, both had the same problem.

Yes - these were from an original prototype build of the boards a little over a year ago. The cap was accidently marked as DNI on the first batch of boards - I had thought we had went through all the boards with stock with that issue as it has been corrected in our design files since then - but a few must still be left.
Fixing the issue should just be installing the 100nF capacitor in the missing pad - future runs of this board have already been corrected - but we must still have stock of the older boards that still work as you got a board from the original batch that was made over a year ago.
I will also note that the EVM you have is using prototype material not material you would actually buy from us - not that really should change performance - the prototype material is the same design as the final device - but it may be worthwhile to change the IC out to a newer one - but that is 100% optional.
