TCAL9538: P ports input bias current

Part Number: TCAL9538

Tool/software:

Hello, I would need to use this part (or a similar I2C-GPIO expander) and make use of the configurable pull-up resistor.

Unfortunately this resistor is quite large (140 kOhm worst case).

My problem is that the datasheet only specifies the worst case input bias current (1 uA max)  when the I/O is at VCC or GND, and nothing in between.

For example, assuming for a moment there is NO external load, will the P-port input be able to transition from logic low to logic high just by switching the pull-up/pull-down resistors ... or will it encounter a high input current somewhere in-between ?

Thank you.
