DP83869EVM: Distorsion test - jigMatch amplitude

Tool/software:

I am making the 1Gbit Ethernet compliance test and right now I am doing Distortion test. We are using Textronic option TDSET3. During the preparation there is required to measure voltage over the JigMatch. Thereare3 setup and 3 measurement

Distributer compensation - expected 2,7V / measured 2,7V
Test fisture compensation , step 1 at TC2 - expected 2,22V / measured 1,64V
Tes fixture compensation, step 2 at TC2 - Expected 1,48V / measured 1,26V

my question is. Why the measured values are far away form expected. does it have impact on the measurement?

Hello,

I would advise consulting with your Tek local agent. Not having proper jig-match may affect results if scope is not properly cancelling out the interfering waveform.

Hi,

this is also good hint, I will do so. I was thinking to as TI because you are having the same option for ECT so you have also good experience with it

Hi Viktor,

It may be best to consult with Tek since there could be plenty of setup-related dependencies which could be at play. We've had tricky challenges getting disturber testing to work properly in lab attributed to some quirks with the Scope/Generator connection, but when we go to UNH for IEEE certification (which Tek is mimicking), there is less issue there.
