TCAN1044A-Q1: Cannot communicate under maximum load condition

Hi team,

Below is the test setup for my TCAN test, and I cannot communicate with μc under maximum load. CAN baud rate = 500Kbps, CANFD baud rate = 500K in arbitration domain and 2M in data domain.

I would like to know:

1. What is the maximum load of our DEMO or this IC?

2. How can I improve this?

    1. This dependents on the topology (star vs line), total cable length, capacitance, number and type of nodes, stub lengths, termination, data rate etc. Please see the below appnote for more information.

    2. The higher the data rate, the lower the allowable bus length, capacitance etc. I would recommend depopulating C1, C2, C3 to verify. Especially C3 as I am unsure of the intent.

    You may also verify for a single linear trunk with short stubs by powering down any additional nodes one by one, with a star topology. Hence, recommend to avoid star topologies if the case and see section 9.2.2 of the data sheet for a more detailed design consideration, thanks.
