TUSB1142: TUSB1142 AEQ keeps showing FF with either short or long cable

my customer are trying AEQ function with our TUSB1142 with competitor's, but they found ours AEQ result always read FF from 3B or 3C ,

they also try cable as short as 0.2M but still the same FF,

they follow the full EQ command guide and sends it even before USB3 hub power on.

since the we would like to know if there's any premise we miss to implement full AEQ?

as for the pre-channel loss on the PCB is estimated 7dB, shouldn't need index even with short USB cable......

Does the port work functionally?

Yes, I will re-review the schematic. Are you able to try enabling AEQ from GPIO settings?

sure , but how could they check AEQ result if they change to pin mode, there's no register to check ,isn't it?

also it's wired to read FF since our default FULLAEQ_UPPER_EQ is 8....

Hi Fred,

Do we see enumeration/ signal performance issues?

Try using different AEQ algorithms to see if we get different results.

Try 0x1C = 0x83, 0x81, 0x87

Try 0x1D = 0x97

Have you tried swapping out this unit for another? This is not expected behavior.
