SN65DSI84-Q1: SN65DSI84 Diagnotsic feature for ASIL B cluster application

Hi Team,

We need to drive LVDS display using DSI to LVDS (SN65DSI84TPAPRQ1 ) device for ASIL B cluster application.

Please let us know if considering ASIL b application. This IC is suitable. We are driving tell tale  for driver indication. What kind of diagnostic we can achieve to cater ASIL B application. Also is there any other device which could provide safety related diagnostic.

    Hi Manoj,

    Could you please tell us what type of diagnostics you are looking for?

    The DSI84 only converts DSI to LVDS. For diagnostics, the 0xE5 register can be used for detecting errors listed below. Is this sufficient for the system requirements?

    Hi Ikram H,

    We also feel that some additional measures like through I2C if heartbeat monitoring can be done through MCU /SoC(This may cover missing image failure) for this LVDS IC and along with that by any means can we detect delayed and frozen image from this?
