SN65DSI84-Q1: SN65DSI84 Diagnotsic feature for ASIL B cluster application

Could you please tell us what type of diagnostics you are looking for?

The DSI84 only converts DSI to LVDS. For diagnostics, the 0xE5 register can be used for detecting errors listed below. Is this sufficient for the system requirements?

We also feel that some additional measures like through I2C if heartbeat monitoring can be done through MCU /SoC(This may cover missing image failure) for this LVDS IC and along with that by any means can we detect delayed and frozen image from this?

This previous E2E thread has some information about the propagation delay: SN65DSI83: Propagation delay 

There is no frozen frame issue with the device because there is no memory that holds entire frames.

1. Please provide the  fit rate for this part as it is being used to drive display for cluster application for ASIL B.

2. Also confirm current consumption fo this part.

Do you have a local Field Applications Engineer or TI representative contact? Please contact them and they can share this information about FIT rates with you via email.

The current consumption will vary based on the use case (number of DSI lanes and LVDS outputs used, pixel clock rate, temperature, etc). For a general example, you could refer to the the examples here: SN65DSI84 / SN65DSI85 Power Consumption
