Can anyone tell me if THVD2452VDR is functionally equivalent to the obsolete PTHVD2452VDR? What is the difference in the two components?

Yes, they are functionally equivalent. PTHVD2452VDR is the preproduction version of THVD2452VDR (this is what the "P" stands for). THVD2452VDR should be used going forward.
